Sensorial
Our sensorial based activities at
My Montessori allow children to refine specific skills to become patient and curious
observers of the world around them. Through a child’s work with sensorial
materials, he or she can make abstract observations and distinctions in
the surrounding environment, which allows the child to learn through his
or her own experiences. Abstract concepts of mathematics can also be introduced
and developed through using such materials.
Sensorial materials are intentionally designed to help a child’s senses
develop by recognizing:
- Color
- Size
- Shape
- Length
- Texture
- Sound
